World Test Championship 2021-23: Full Schedule
The second edition of the World Test Championship (2021-23) will kick start from the upcoming five match Test series between England and India. The only other series in WTC 2.0 to have five matches is the Ashes 2021-22, scheduled to start in December in Australia. The second cycle of WTC spans from August 2021 to June 2023.
Like the first cycle of WTC, the second edition will see each of the nine Test teams playing as many as six series, each with three home and three away. The total number of matches played by a team varies and hence percentage of points (PCT) earned by teams is taken in to consideration. PCT is the percentage of points won out of the total number of points contested by each team.
England will play the maximum number of Test matches in WTC 2 (21 matches) while Bangladesh will feature in the least number of matches, i.e, 12. The inaugural World Test Championship finalist India, on the other hand, will play the second most number of matches. They feature in as many as 19 red-ball fixtures.
The defending champions of World Test Championship, New Zealand will feature in only 13 matches in the second edition.
West Indies and Sri Lanka shall also take part in 13 games each.
Australia shall feature in 18 red-ball fixtures, whereas South Africa and Pakistan will play 15 and 14 matches, respectively, in WTC’s second cycle.
