CPL 2021: St Lucia Zouks Player Retention List
St Lucia Zouks announced their retentions for the 2021 edition of CPL which will kick start on August 28 in St Kitts & Nevis, after a busy home series schedule featuring South Africa, Australia and Pakistan.
West Indies will feature in 15 T20Is during this period playing 5 T20Is each against their opponents.
St Lucia Zouks retained as many as 7 cricketers for the 2021 edition of Hero Caribbean Premier League. The Zouks have announced that they will be retaining the core of the team which took them to the 2020 Hero CPL final.
Spiceman Andre Fletcher made the cut alongside Rahkeem Cornwall and Roston Chase (who recently lost his WICB contract).
They will be joined by the experienced Kesrick Williams, Obed McCoy, Mark Deyal and Javelle Glen.
Darren Sammy who led the team previously will be no longer a player for the team. He has now taken up the role of T20 Consultant and Brand Ambassador for the St Lucia Zouks franchise.
“It’s been an absolute pleasure to have led and been a part of the St Lucia Zouks from its inception. Even though some may say good things must come to an end it will not be in this instant. St Lucia Zouks and I will always be a team. But since venturing into coaching, I realize I have a new passion that can allow me to still contribute and play a part in taking the franchise forward on its quest to winning a CPL title and developing future stars!”, Daren Sammy said.

Preparations are ongoing as the franchise works aggressively on identifying exceptional players to bring to the team to victory.”, Coach Andy Flower expressed his views of Daren Sammy.
The Zouks still have 9 spots left to fill in their squad and the remaining players will be announced in the coming few days.
