BCCI announces cash prize for the team
Team India has registered a historic 2-1 Test series win down under on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. The victory came with out the likes of regular suspects Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin – which makes it a even bigger achievement against a full strength Australian side.
Elated with this achievement the Board of Cricket Control in India announced a cash prize of 5 crore INR to the Indian cricket team.
“We are extremely proud of the series win. Beating Australia in Australia by a young team will remain etched in the history of Indian cricket forever. It cannot get better than this. I am so proud of everyone. Congratulations to Ajinkya Rahane and Ravi Shastri and the rest of the touring party for this remarkable feat.” BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said.
