20 year old Priyam Garg to lead Uttar Pradesh in Syed Mushtaq Ali

Former India U-19 World Cup captain Priyam Garg will lead UP team in the upcoming edition of Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament. Karan Sharma is named his deputy.

The tournament begins on January 10th. Uttar Pradesh named their 15 member squad for the team comprising of Indian national cricketers Suresh Raina and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The team also has the likes of IPL cricketers Rinku Singh, Shivam Mavi, Mohsin Khan and Ankit Rajpoot. The team also has wicket keeper Dhruv Jurel who kept wickets for India under Priyam Garg in the U-19 Cricket World Cup.

Garg had an impressive Ranji Trophy season for Uttar Pradesh – scoring 814 runs in just 8 matches. He has also registered his maiden double century. He also had a impressive stint with IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020 where he scored a match winning knock against CSK and also took some brilliant catches on field.
