KL Rahul hospitalized – Punjab Kings to miss the captain for few matches!
Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul has been hospitalized after complaining of a severe abdomen pain on Saturday night. Rahul was taken to the emergency room for further tests which revealed that he was diagnosed with cute appendicitis.
The 29 year old Punjab Kings captain will undergo surgery and has been transferred to the hospital for safety reasons.
The franchise has released a statement on social media asking the fans to pray for his speedy recovery.
This news comes in a shock for all fans alike, as he has been one of the top batsmen in the tournament so far. Rahul is the current orange cap holder in IPL 2021 with 331 runs in 7 matches with a brilliant average of 66.20 and strike rate of 136.21. He hit 4 half centuries – 2 of them being 90+ scores.
Punjab Kings are due to take on Delhi Capitals on 2nd May. With the absence of KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal is likely to lead the team.
Punjab Kings are currently ranked 5th in the points table after playing 7 matches.
