Colin Munro to play for Perth Scorchers

Perth Scorchers sign up Blackcaps batsman Colin Munro for the Big Bash 2020-21 season. Munro is a prolific T20 cricketer with 6515 runs at a strike rate of 144.32. He previously played for Sydney Sixers. Though he missed out on a New Zealand Cricket contract – he is a T20 cricketer in demand. He recently was a crucial member of Caribbean Premier League champions team Trinbago Knight Riders – he scored 207 runs at 133.54 strike rate in a tournament which had a flurry of low scores.

To jump on board with such a successful, established club that has been playing great cricket since the BBL started was really what appealed to me. It’s going to be pretty special to be part of it.

Perth Scorchers has already signed up overseas cricketers Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone – both of them will miss at least the first 3 matches owing to national duties for the tour of South Africa. Colin Munro will be available for the whole of Big Bash League season.

Colin’s naturally aggressive instinct with the bat and ability to take the game away from the opposition quickly will make him an extremely important impact player for us this summer. We look forward to welcoming Colin to the Scorchers.
