Royal Challengers Bangalore edged Delhi Capitals by just 1 run in a thriller at Narendra Modi Stadium. RCB posted 171-5 in 20 overs thanks to the slog by AB de Villiers. Delhi Capitals took the match deep and almost pulled off a sensational win but not to be. Capitals lost just 4 wickets and ended on a score of 170 in the chase.

AB de Villiers walked in to bat at no.5 with RCB at 60/3 in 8.3 overs at the fall of Glenn Maxwell for 25 runs.

With the score at 148-5 in 19 overs – he took on Marcus Stoinis in the final over. Pant remained unbeaten on 58 runs in 48 balls with the help of 6 fours.
Mohammed Siraj needed to defend 14 runs in the last over to secure a win for RCB and he choked up the batsman for room in his first 4 balls conceding 1,1,0,2. DC needed 10 to win off the last 2 balls but Captain Pant could manage only 2 back to back fours as RCB clinched the match by 1 run
Shimron Hetmyer – 53*(25)
When Hetmyer walked in to bat, Delhi Capitals needed 80 runs to win in 44 balls. He turned the match around with his aggressive style of play smacking 4 sixes and 2 fours.
Hetmyer remained not out on 53 balls in 25 balls which got the Capitals as close as 25 runs to win in last over overs.
Harshal Patel – 2/37
The purple cap holder Harshal Patel was among the wickets again as he removed Prithvi Shaw and Marcus Stoinis.
He finished with bowling figures of 4-0-37-2 which put brakes to Capitals innings from time to time in the chase.
