IPL 2021 : DC V RCB Match Preview & Probable XIs

DC V RCB – HEAD TO HEAD : 26 MATCHES

DC WON : 10, RCB WON : 15, NR : 1

Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be up against each other on 27th April, Tuesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both the teams had a good start to their IPL campaign, having won have 4 out of 5 games they have played so far.

DC are coming off a super over win against SRH in their previous game. Their openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw are on a roll. They have been providing solid starts at a brisk rate, making the job of other batsmen a lot easier. Steve Smith and Rishabh Pant too chipped in with good knocks in the last game. Axar Patel had a great outing with the ball. Playing his first match of the season, he finished with figures of 2-26 in 4 overs and then gave away just 7 runs in the super over.

RCB, on the other hand, had to face a heavy loss at the hands of CSK. They were outplayed in every department and as a result lost their first game of the season. Virat Kohli said that it is good to have these kind of days early in the tournament so as to fix the shortcomings. This loss shouldn’t bother them much. Harshal Patel is currently the Purple Cap holder but had a forgettable outing. He was on the receiving end of the onslaught by Ravindra Jadeja in the last over of the innings, conceding 37 runs, the joint most expensive over in the IPL history. He has been really good with the ball all this time and it was just an off day for him.

DC and RCB both have firepower in their batting. Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers bring big hitting to the RCB. Rishab Pant and Shimron Hetmyer would try to negate that for DC. All in all, it is expected to be another intriguing contest.

The conditions in Ahmedabad will be neutral for both the teams. Average first innings score there is 171. Teams would look to field first. Bowling slow cutters in between should be the way forward here.

DC v RCB TEAM NEWS :

DC will be without the services of Ravichandran Ashwin, who has taken a break to support his family in their fight with Covid-19. Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa have also withdrawn from the IPL, citing Covid-19 concerns.

Lalit Yadav is likely to come in place of unavailable Ravichandran Ashwin. Apart from this, they are expected to go with the same combination.

RCB’s loss against CSK shouldn’t bother them much. They are likely to continue with the same combination. Though they might give Daniel Sams a go in place of Daniel Christian.
