IPL 2021 : CSK v SRH Match Preview & Probable XIs

CSK V SRH – HEAD TO HEAD : 14 MATCHES

CSK WON : 10, SRH WON : 4

Chennai Super Kings are on a roll, having won 4 out of the 5 games they played so far. They seem to have got their swagger back and these are ominous signs for other teams. If we are being honest here, nobody expected them to perform this way after previous season’s debacle. They are coming off a morale boosting victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore and would want to carry on with the momentum.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad had to face another loss, this time against the Delhi Capitals. They did well for most parts of the game but lost in the super over. They are yet to find their perfect combination and would want to fix that issue as soon as possible.

Everything is falling in place for the Super Kings. Their openers are providing them good starts, middle order is firing in unison and they have been finishing really well. Their bowlers have turned up and have provided the breakthroughs.

Ravindra Jadeja had a perfect day on the field against RCB. His all-round abilities were on display and that was the difference between both the teams. He made an unbeaten 62 off 28 balls with the bat and finshed with the figures of 3-14 with the ball. CSK would want more of such performances from their ace all-rounder going into the tournament.

SRH, on the other hand, have to rethink about their playing XI. Omission of Manish Pandey is quite bewildering to say the least. He has been their constant run getter over the years and provides stability to their fragile middle order. Hyderabad’s experiment of playing Virat Singh hasn’t worked for them. Manish Pandey is expected to be  back in the playing XI. Kane Williamson was at his sensational best in the previous game. He played the anchor beautifully and almost took SRH over the line.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s fitness has been an issue for SRH. They struggle a lot without him at the death. Khaleel Ahmed and Siddharth Kaul haven’t hit the straps. They would want Bhuvneshwar Kumar to come back to fitness as soon as possible.

Delhi will host its first match of the season. Conditions there are expected to be quite similar to that in Chennai. The pitches there have traditionally aided spinners. Both CSK and SRH have top quality spinners in their ranks and would want to make full use of the conditions.

CSK v SRH – TEAM NEWS

Moeen Ali missed the previous game due to an injury. He has been excellent for CSK. If fit, he is expected to be back in the XI in place of DJ Bravo. Rest of the combination is likely to be same.

Hyderabad have a lot to ponder. Manish Pandey should be back. Bhuvneshvar Kumar if fit, may replace either of Khaleel Ahmed or Siddharth Kaul.
