Shikhar Dhawan’s century helps Delhi to win in Vijay Hazare Trophy Fixture
Shikhar Dhawan recorded his 30th List A century which guided Delhi to win in a 300+ chase against Maharashtra. Chasing a target of 329, Dhawan set the tone to the innings by putting on a 136 run opening stand with Dhruv Shorey (61). He kept losing partners at other end but he kept his composure to pile on a masterful 153.
Earlier Kedar Jadhav (86) and Azim Kazi (91) helped Maharashtra to 328-7 in 50 overs after they won the toss and opt to bat. Dhawan dominated the show with the bat for Delhi as the southpaw struck 153 runs in 118 balls at a strike rate of 129.66. It was not an easy chase for Delhi as they kept losing wickets – but for the Six by Delhi captain Pradeep Sangwan which sealed the deal in the final over of the match.
