S Sreesanth makes his T20 come back

Santhakumaran Sreesanth who was kept away from cricket for over 7 years has made his comeback in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match for Kerala. The match was played at Wankhede Stadium where he played for India in his last ODI appearance in World Cup 2011 finals.

Sreesanth last played a T20 match between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab in IPL in May 2013 before he was alleged in a IPL corruption scandal. The Kerala paceman served his ban – challenged his ban in court of law and has finally made his comeback dream come true.

Sreesanth who looked visibly fit bowled 4 overs in his come back match which he played for Kerala against Puducherry. The Kerala pacer got his team a break through in powerplay in the form of opener Fabid Ahmed who was bowled out for 10 runs.

After being arrested in May 2013, Sreesanth was handed a life-ban by the BCCI, but last year, it was reduced to a seven years’ suspension. This helped Sreesanth train hard and get back to fitness to fulfill his dreams. He got selected in Kerala team probables and later made in to the main team.

Kerala is being led by India national Sanju Samson who is also taking care of the wicket keeping duties for the team. Captain Samson bowled Sreesanth for 3 overs in the powerplay in which he conceded 25 runs and picked the price wicket of Fabid Ahmed. He bowled his final over in the 14th over of the match in which he conceded just 4 runs – making his match bowling figures to 4-0-29-1 on his come back!

Sreesanth dreams to don Team India colors soon and wishes his domestic performances replicates in to a national call. He last played for India in a Test match at Oval against England in August 2011. His last ODI appearance was in the finals of 2011 Cricket World Cup against Sri Lanka.
