West Indies T20I jersey unveiled
West Indies Cricket posted their new T20I kit on instagram ahead of their T20I series against New Zealand. Rovman Powell is seen sporting the new maroon jersey. Windies are set to face New Zealand in 3 match T20I series beginning on November 27th at Eden Park, Auckland.
It has been told that this jersey will also be worn in all T20I matches in a build up to the T20 World Cup edition and by the West Indies Women’s team in all their T20I matches. The T20I jersey features yellow geometric pattern over the contemporary maroon styling extending to the sleeves. The jerseys are made with a premium lightweight performance stretch fabric and are available in both short/half and long sleeve variations – manufactured by Castore.
West Indies walk in to the 2021 edition of T20 World Cup in India as defending champions – They clinched the 2016 edition in India after a thrilling finale at Eden Gardens where Carlos Brathwaite tonked 4 consecutive sixes to seal the deal for West Indies against England. Their 2 time World Cup winning captain Daren Sammy is side lined for this edition though as Kieron Pollard has taken reigns as the limited overs captain.
We’re really excited for the new T20I shirt to debut with the West Indies Men’s team in New Zealand at the of the road to the ICC T20 World Cup. We know that fans will love the bold design and rally behind the #MenInMaroon for this Series and throughout 2021. Castore have created a superb range of playing and training gear that have been in demand since launching prior to the Sandals Tour of England 2020 and we expect to see great demand from West Indies fans, the most passionate cricket fans in the world.
