Team India Playing XI for Boxing Day Test: 2 debutants, Jadeja & Pant in
BCCI has announced Team India’s playing XI for the Boxing Day Test against Australia at MCG. The Team India playing XI has 2 debutants in the form of Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj. Ajinkya Rahane will lead the team as Cheteshwar Pujara is his deputy.
The team has as many as 4 changes from the first Test XI. Rishabh Pant is taking over the wicket keeping responsibilities from Wriddhiman Saha while Mohammed Siraj replaces the injured pacer Mohammed Shami. With Virat Kohli leaving Australia for the birth of his first child, all rounder Ravindra Jadeja gives India a wicket taking option.
Shubman Gill replaces Prithvi Shaw who had an awful outing in the Day-Night Test. Shaw was bowled out by Starc and Cummins for scores of 0 & 4.
Indian pace attack comprises of Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj. Siraj stayed back in Australia despite the demise of his father. The pacer gets an opportunity to prove himself as he makes his debut at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
