West Indies Test squad against Bangladesh announced
West Indies Test squad for the home series against Bangladesh has been announced. The three match Test series will begin on June 16, 2022. Three uncapped players are named in the Test squad – wicketkeeper batsman Devon Thomas, left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie and pacer Anderson Philip. Thomas and Motie have already represented West Indies in white-ball cricket.
The major player missing from the squad is Jason Holder who’d requested for a break. Kermar Roach is another main player who is out with an injury sustained during County Championship.
“Allrounder Jason Holder is unavailable for selection as CWI has granted his request for a period of rest and recovery. He will therefore miss Bangladesh’s all-format tour of the West Indies,” said a statement from Cricket West Indies (CWI).
West Indies included Shermon Lewis and Tagenarine Chanderpaul (son of Shivnarine Chanderpaul) in their squad.
West Indies Test squad:

West Indies are currently at No.6 in ICC World Test Championship while Bangladesh are at No.9.
“We are looking to pick up World Test Championship points against Bangladesh which will be very important. It would be good for us to use our home advantage to win both Test matches and collect those points,” said lead selector Desmond Haynes.
