CSK vs GT, Match 62 – IPL 2022 Report: Opting to bat first, Chennai Super Kings never had the fluent run flow through the innings. Ruturaj Gaikwad top scored with a 53 while Narayan Jagadeesan struggled to get the run going with a 33-ball 39.  CSK were 109/2 in 15 overs and looked set to launch 150, but no boundaries were conceded in the last 5 overs of the innings by Gujarat Titans bowlers and Chennai had to settle with 133/5 in 20 overs – just 24 runs for the loss of three wickets in the last 5 overs.

Gujarat Titans chase was orchestrated by Wriddhiman Saha who was severe in the powerplay overs. Titans scored 53 runs in powerplay -37 of those runs by Saha. Saha recorded his 11^th IPL fifty off 42 balls and remained unbeaten till the end to take his team through with a winning boundary.

CSK tried new bowling options in the form of Matheesha Pathirana – Sri Lankan pacer who is known as Little Malinga for his Malinagesque side-arm bowling action and Prashant Solanki – a leg spinner.

Pathirana picked a wicket off the first ever ball he bowled in his IPL cricket to trap Shubman Gill LBW. He later got the big wicket of Hardik Pandya! Meanwhile leggie Solanki returned with bowling figures of 4-0-18-0 in his spell on debut.

Gujarat chased down the target with 5 balls remaining in the innings.
