India vs New Zealand: 2nd Test Report – Ajaz Patel picks 10 wickets
India vs New Zealand Toss: India won the toss and elect to bat
New Zealand left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel (47.5-12-119-10) created history as he picked all the 10 Indian wickets in the 2nd Test at Mumbai. He became the first ever bowler to achieve this feat in the 21st Century and third overall. Jim Laker (10-53 vs Australia) and Anil Kumble (10-74 vs Pakistan) were the first two bowlers to achieve this feat. India were bundled out for 325 runs – thanks to a skillful 150 by Mayank Agrwal followed by a maiden Test half-century from Axar Patel.
Later New Zealand were bowled out for just 62 runs in 28.1 overs. This is their lowest total against India in Test history. This is also the lowest total by any team in Test Cricket against Team India.
Captain Virat Kohli didn’t enforce the follow on and Cheteshwar Pujara opened the innings in the absence of Shubman Gill who is nursing an injury. India took a lead of 332 runs at the end of Day 2.
