Australia squad for limited over series in West Indies and Bangladesh

Cricket Australia announced the 29-member squad for the white ball series ahead of the tours of West Indies and Bangladesh. The selectors added 6 more names to the initial squad.

Australia take on West Indies in 5 T20Is and 3 ODI matches. The first T20I begins on July 9 2021 with Daren Sammy Stadium, St Lucia hosting all the five matches. The ODI series shifts to Kensington Oval, Barbados where all the three matches are played.

Among the squad members is 38 year old Dan Christian who last played for Australia in October 2017 in a T20I match against India.

The spin combination comprises of Adam Zampa, Mitchell Swepson and Tanveer Sangha – all leg spinners alongside Ashton Agar. The pace battery boasts big names like Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins along with specialist bowlers Riley Meredith, Kane Richardson, Jhye Richardson, Andrew Tye, Wes Agar and Nathan Ellis.

The squad has 3 wicket keeper batsmen in the form of Josh Philippe, Alex Carey and Matthew Wade. All rounders Glenn Maxwell, Ashton Turner, Marcus Stoinis, Cameron Green, Moises Henriques, Mitchell Starc and Dan Christian made the cut in to the preliminary squad.
