CPL 2021: Barbados Tridents Player Retention List
Two time CPL Champions Barbados Tridents announced their 2021 Player Retentions ahead of the 2021 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The 2021 edition of CPL will kick start on August 28 in St Kitts & Nevis, after a busy home series schedule featuring South Africa, Australia and Pakistan.
West Indies will feature in 15 T20Is during this period playing 5 T20Is each against their opponents.
Barbados Tridents retained 9 cricketers including captain Jason Holder along with fellow Barbadians Shai Hope, Kyle Mayers, Raymon Reifer, Justin Greaves, Nyeem Young and Joshua Bishop. In addition to the local playing contingent the Tridents have retained opening batsman Johnson Charles and leg spinner Hayden Walsh Jr who was player of the tournament when the Tridents claimed the Hero CPL title in 2019.

The biggest let go is that of Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan. The other players dropped from the squad include Jonathan Carter, Ashley Nurse, Mitchell Santner, Corey Anderson, Shamarh Brooks, Keon Harding and Shayan Jahangir.
The team now have 8 slots to fill with no foreign players in the squad at the moment. The CPL 2021 draft is likely to happen in the final week of May 2021.
