Jason Holder to play for Sydney Sixers

Jason Holder has signed a 3 match deal with Sydney Sixers for the upcoming edition of Big Bash League 2020-21. Holder joins his countryman Carlos Brathwaite, Englishmen James Vince and Tom Curran in the overseas signups for the Sixers.

Jason Holder comes from an impactful campaign with the Sunrisers Hyderabad team where he scored 104 runs at 123.80 strike rate and picked 14 wickets in 7 matches at an average of 16.64. He promoted up the order in this year’s CPL edition and showed progressed in his batting in the shorter version of the game.

The West Indies Test captain is currently in New Zealand for the Test series which concludes on December 15. He would be available for the Sixers for the clash against Adelaide Strikers on December 20.

Teams are allowed to field 3 overseas players in the upcoming edition of Big Bash League in a move to generate interest in fans.

Moises Henriques would be leading Sydney Sixers with their first match slated to be on 10 December against Hobart Hurricanes. Jason Holder played alongside Moises Henriques in IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise.
