Liam Livingstone out of IPL 2021
Another Rajasthan Royals overseas player Liam Livingstone is ruled out of IPL 2021 citing bubble fatigue. The 27-year-old England all-rounder has flown England on Monday.
Livingstone has been a part of multiple bio- bubbles over the last 6 months. He was a part of the England team that toured South Africa at the end of last year and followed it by entering the Big Bash League bubble for a period of two-months with Perth Scorchers. He then travelled to India as part of England’s limited-overs squad.
He made his ODI debut at Ahmedabad and then joined the Rajasthan Royals bubble for the Indian Premier League.
Livingstone becomes the fourth overseas player in IPL 2021 to pull out citing bubble fatigue. Previously Mitchell Marsh (SRH), Josh Hazlewood (CSK) and Josh Philippe (RCB) cited the reason with out even entering the bubble.
“We understand and respect his decision, and will continue supporting him in any way we can.” the Rajasthan Royals franchise said.
This comes as a huge blow to Royals as they already lost a big player in Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer is still in the path of recovery. Livingstone made his IPL debut in 2019 where he scored 71 runs in 4 matches at a strike rate of 147.91 with a highest score of 44 to his name.
Rajasthan Royals played 3 matches so far and won 1 and lost 2 matches. They are scheduled to take on table-toppers Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next fixture on April 22.
