6 Players who can replace Ben Stokes in RR
Rajasthan Royals faced a massive blow with the loss of Ben Stokes who sustained a broken finger in his left hand during the match against Punjab Kings.
The invaluable experience of Ben Stokes is irreplaceable and it will be a task at hand for the Royals management to get in a right fit to the team. These are our 5 player choices who can replace the English all-rounder.
Devon Conway
The South Africa born New Zealand cricketer is the man in demand right now and he could be the go to man as it would give Royals a flexible opening and middle order choice.
The 29 year old left handed batsman is known to be a good player of spin and has an exceptional average and strike rate against them. With a T20 average of 44.35 scoring 3149 runs in just 89 innings – Conway will be a great addition to the RR set up.
Thisara Perera
The experienced Sri Lankan all-rounder has had a previous IPL experience with CSK, MI,KXIP,SRH,KTK and RSPS.
Perera scored 422 IPL runs at a strike rate of 137.45 and has 31 wickets to his name with a best of 3-20. The Sri Lankan all-rounder is known for his big hitting ability and it will give Royals a chance to open with Buttler trying out Perera in the lower middle order to address the slog issues.
Colin de Grandhomme
Rajasthan Royals can balance on the fire power quotient in the form of this Kiwi all-rounder. With a strike rate of over 160 in T20 cricket – Colin de Grandhomme could be the answer.
de Grandhomme also has an ability to strike with the ball which is a bonus if RR could use his ability to their advantage. The kiwi all-rounder who had brief stints with Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders, also boasts experience in the CPL.
He was in devastating form with the bat in the recent New Zealand domestic circuit tournaments.
Dwaine Pretorius
Royals is currently battling with the loss of both Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer and with Dwaine Pretorius you have a near answer for a specialist bowler who can strike big with the bat.
The Proteas all-rounder has a T20 batting strike rate of 140.36 and has picked 97 T20 wickets to his name with a best of 5-17 which has come in Pakistan conditions in the recent tour.
The South Africa national will add great value to the Royals set up given their need for speed and slog.
James Faulkner
The Royals can take a familiar route with the Aussie all-rounder who played for them 2013-15.
Faulkner scored 527 IPL runs at a strike rate of 135.47 and picked 59 wickets to his name with a best of 5-16. He has 2 IPL five wicket hauls to his name which adds to his ability to strike big with the new ball and at the death.
His form has gone down hill ever since but the last 3 BBL seasons has witnessed the rise of a left arm strike bowler we have seen at his prime.
David Willey
The English all-rounder boasts a batting strike rate of 139.94 and bowling average of 22.88 in T20 cricket. His ability to bat any pinch hitting slot adds to the fire power of any team.
The left handed batsman and pacer is known for his serious ability to strike early. Willey has previously played for CSK in 2018 and picked 2 wickets in his 3 outings and should hope to better the record if he gets the call.

Experienced T20 all-rounders Ravi Bopara and Carlos Brathwaite make for a think worthy options while the upcoming all-rounders Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga and Kyle Mayers could also be in the radar for bringing in some fresh perspective to the team. Batting options like Colin Munro, Aaron Finch and Alex Hales can also be considered to bolster their top order.
