IPL 2021: Players who will miss the first match for their team!

IPL 2021 is hit by injury worries of prolific players like Shreyas Iyer  and Jofra Archer. There also some of the players who will miss their first match for their respective teams owing to International scheduling, medical and personal reasons.

Here is the list of all players who won’t be making it to the playing XIs in IPL 2021 :

Adam Zampa (RCB)

RCB leggie Adam Zampa is set to miss the tournament opener against Mumbai Indians as he is getting married to his long-time girlfriend Hattie Leigh Palmer.

Devdutt Padikkal (RCB)

The RCB opener was tested positive for COVID-19 is racing against time to make it to the RCB Playing XI. He will be undergoing quarantine and is very likely to miss the first match against Mumbai Indians.

Kagiso Rabada (DC)

Delhi Capitals’ leading wicket taker in IPL 2020 is set to miss their first match on the 10th of April against CSK at Mumbai. The South African cricketers left for India on Sunday and are subject to undergo a mandatory 7-day quarantine at the team hotel.

He will be available for the 2nd  match for Delhi Capitals against Rajasthan Royals on the 15th of April at Mumbai.

Quinton de Kock (MI)

PC: BCCI

The Mumbai Indians opener will miss the season opener against RCB as he would be in quarantine. He is likely to be replaced by either Chris Lynn or Ishan Kishan in the opening slot.

He should be available for the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on 13th April at Chennai.

Delhi Capitals handicapped with out Proteas pacers (PC: BCCI)

Another South Africa cricketer who will be in the quarantine as he misses Delhi’s first match on the against CSK at Mumbai 0n 10th April. He will be ready for the Rajasthan Royals encounter on 15th April.

David Miller (RR)

Rajasthan Royals middle order power hitter David Miller reached India on Monday – and will be missing the first match against Punjab Kings on 12th April. He should be ready for the match on 15th April against Delhi Capitals.

Lungi Ngidi (CSK)

PC: BCCI

Chennai Super Kings pacer Lungi Ngidi will be missed by the franchise with Josh Hazlewood already withdrawing from the tournament. He will miss CSK’s first match against Delhi Capitals at Mumbai on 10th April.

He should be ready for the franchise’s 2nd match against Punjab Kings on the 16th at Mumbai.

Axar Patel (DC)

Axar Patel tested positive for COVID-19 and with quarantine protocols set in – he will re-enter the bio-secure bubble after testing negative for the virus. He will miss the first match against CSK on 10th April as his comeback can’t be guessed as is subject to the recovery time of the cricketer.
