Devdutt Padikkal
Devdutt Padikkal was one of the biggest revelations of IPL 2020 as he won the emerging player award. He had a memorable debut season with RCB scoring 473 runs in 15 matches at an average of 31.53. He hit 5 half centuries and was the top run getter for his team which has the likes of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers!
The 20-year-old left-handed opener is fresh from scoring 4 consecutive List A centuries and now has a List A Average of 86.68 in 20 matches. With Virat Kohli suggesting he would open the innings with Devdutt Padikkal this season – it will be a much competitive season to watch out for the Karnataka batsman.
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal entered the IPL 2020 edition as a Man of the Tournament from the U-19 World Cup. Rajasthan Royals used Jaiswal sparsely in just 3 matches and that didn’t really help his confidence.
The left-handed batsman is one of the most talent batsmen in domestic circuit and can also roll his sleeve to bowl leg spin.
With Jaiswal the potential was never in question – If given a proper run the youngster could build confidence to play his natural game at the top for Royals.
Abdul Samad
The Jammu & Kashmir all rounder has shown a glimpse of his six hitting ability last season with the Sunrisers Hyderabad and one would hope we get to see a much refined version of him this season with the franchise entrusting him with the finishing/slog role.

Ravi Bishnoi
The Punjab Kings leg spinner was impressive in his first stint in the 2020 edition and would be looking forward to double the results this season. Bishnoi continues to be Punjab’s prime spinner and his ability to bounce back after being hit show cases a glimpse of coach Kumble’s characteristic trait.
The 20-year-old Rajasthan leggie picked 11 wickets in 7 matches at an average of 14.63 and an economy rate of 5.75 in this year’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament.
Ruturaj Gaikwad
The CSK top order batsman had an impressive IPL 2020 season scoring 204 runs in 6 innings at an average of 51.00 including 3 half centuries. Gaikwad missed the initial half of the IPL edition due to COVID-19 scare and since his return CSK had a new zing to their game play.
Given Ruturaj Gaikwad can have a complete season this time round, all eyes are on this 24 year old batsman who has sprung the expectations since the previous season.
My dream team will feature Marcus Trescothick and Anil Kumble
