KL Rahul’s 5th ODI century couple with Virat Kohli’s resistance followed by Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya slog powered India to 336-6 in 50 overs against England.
England won the toss again in the 2nd ODI and elect to bowl first. The visitors brought in Dawid Malan (2nd ODI), Liam Livingstone (debut) and Reece Topley (12th ODI) to replace Eoin Morgan, Sam Billings and Mark Wood. India brought in Rishabh Pant to replace the injured Shreyas Iyer.
India lost both their openers with in the first 10 overs to left arm pacers Reece Topley and Sam Curran. Team India were 41-2 at 10 overs mark.
Captain Kohli and KL Rahul steadied the situation helping India to 100 run mark in 22.1 overs.
Virat Kohli brought up his half century in 62 balls while KL Rahul reached his milestone in 66 balls. India reached the 150 mark in 31.1 overs with the aid of a KL Rahul Six who just reached his half century.
Adil Rashid got the breakthrough as he succeeded in getting the wicket of Virat Kohli again. Kohli was caught behind by captain Buttler for 66 runs in 79 balls.
The duo of KL Rahul and Virat Kohli put on a partnership of 121 in 141 balls for the 3rd wicket.
Rishabh Pant joined KL Rahul with India at 158-3 in 32 overs. The combo put 113 run partnership in 13.2 overs as India crossed the 6 run rate mark. Pant struck his half century in 28 balls while KL Rahul reached his 5th ODI century in 108 balls.
KL Rahul was dismissed for 108 in 114 runs with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes. Hardik Pandya joined in the slog with Pant as he hit the first ball he faced to a monstrous six off Sam Curran.
Tom Curran removed Rishabh Pant for 77 in 40 balls with the score at 308-5 in 46.5 overs. Krunal Pandya (12* in 9 balls) joined his brother as the duo powered Team India to 336-6 in 50 overs. Hardik Pandya fell in the last over to Reece Topley for a 16 ball 35 run power slog!
