The Mumbai captain spanked 17 fours and 7 sixes to reach 165 in 122 balls. The next highest scorer in the innings for Mumbai was Shams Mulani (45 in 71 balls). Shaw and Mulani put a partnership of 159 runs (in 142 balls) for the 3rd wicket to stabilize the Mumbai innings. Karnataka medium pacer Vyshak Vijaykumar who made his List A debut in this tournament picked 4 wickets for 56 runs (including the wicket of Prithvi Shaw) to bowl out Mumbai for 322 runs before the allotted quota of overs.

Chasing 323 to enter the finals, Karnataka lost their captain Ravikumar Samarth early as opener Devdutt Padikkal impressed every one yet again with a run a ball 64. Manish Pandey (1) and Karun Nair (29) didn’t contribute much to the cause as the team slipped in to troubled path. Despite wicket keeper Belur Ravi Sharath’s 39 balls 61, Karnataka bundled out for 250 runs as Mumbai secured a 72 run win to enter the finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy!

Mumbai will now take on Uttar Pradesh who beat Gujarat in the semi finals. The final will be played on 14th March, 2021 at New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.
