RR vs LSG – Match 20 – IPL 2022 Report: Rajasthan Royals clinched a last ball thriller against Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium. Marcus Stoinis made his team debut for Lucknow and almost took his team through.
Earlier Rajasthan were reduced to 67/4 in 9.5 overs. Hetmyer and Ashwin put on a 68-run stand for the sixth wicket. Ashwin on 28 was retired out to bring in the fresh legs of Riyan Parag, who contributed with a six in the end. Hetmyer’s 36-ball 59 runs took RR to a respectable total of 165-6 in 20 overs.
Chasing 166 to win, Trent Boult bamboozled Lucknow off the first two deliveries of the innings by removing KL Rahul and Krishnappa Gowtham. Boult went around the wicket to topple KL Rahul’s stumps as the Lucknow Super Giants captain secured his second golden duck of the season.
Marcus Stoinis heroics in the end put LSG 3 short of RR’s total as debutant Kuldeep Sen denied 15 runs off the the final over. Yuzvendra Chahal picked 4 wickets bowling deep in to the innings and was adjudged the Player of the Match over Shimron Hetmyer.
