LSG vs MI – IPL 2022 Report: KL Rahul strikes again!
LSG vs MI, Match 37 – IPL 2022 Report: KL Rahul smacked an identical ton against Mumbai Indians this season. He previously scored a 60-ball 103* at Brabourne. Walking in to bat at Wankhede where he had two golden ducks this season, Rahul smacked a 62 ball 103* to help his team to 168/6 in 20 overs. Quite evidently, he hardly had any support from the other end.
Chasing 169 runs to win, Ishan Kishan continued his horror run as he departed for 8 runs in 20 overs which put pressure on the asking rate and the batsmen who followed fell trying to catch up with it. Captain Rohit Sharma top scored for his team with 39 but fell at the wrong time.
Surprising move by captain KL Rahul to bring in Ayush Badoni for the first time to bowl paid off well when the spinner got rid of Suryakumar Yadav who tried to play a shot against the spin but the got the leading edge straight into the hands of captain himself.
Tilak Varma showed some character once again as he pulped Bishnoi out of park to put Mumbai back in the hunt.
Periodical wickets didn’t help MI as some exceptional death over bowling choked the chase. Kieron Pollard’s 20-ball 19 surely didn’t help Mumbai’s cause as Jason Holder surely kept it tight against his fellow West Indian in the death overs. Krunal Pandya picked 3 wickets. He bowled the 20th over of the Mumbai innings. Lucknow managed to win by a margin of 36 runs.
