West Indies vs Sri Lanka: Match 35 Report – Windies out of World Cup race!

West Indies vs Sri Lanka Toss: West Indies won the toss and elect to bowl

Defending champions West Indies crashed out of T20 World Cup race as Sri Lanka finished on a high with a 20 run win. 91 run stand in 10.1 overs between Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka set Sri Lanka the base to 189-3 in 20 overs.

West Indies lost both their openers at the score of 10 – as seamer Binura Fernando removed both the south-paws (Gayle 1 & Lewis 8) – Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer steadied the ship after the fall of Roston Chase (9). Sri Lanka continued picking important wickets of Pooran, Russell and Pollard at regular intervals which made it difficult for Hetmyer to steer Windies to win.

Hetmyer remained unbeaten on 81 in 54 balls with the help of 8 fours & 4 sixes!
