RCB named Sanjay Bangar as the new head coach for IPL 2022

Royal Challengers Bangalore have opted to go with former Indian all-rounder Sanjay Bangar as their new head coach for the IPL 2022 season. He will take up the duties from Mike Hesson, who will now return to the role pf Director of Cricket Operations at RCB.

Sanjay Bangar represented Team India in 12 Tests and 15 ODIs and is not new to the coaching roles. After retirement his first coaching assignment came in the form of batting coach of Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2010. He was later named the assistant coach of Kings XI Punjab ahead of the 2014 season. He stepped up the ladder to become the head coach of Punjab franchise the same season and guided the team in to the finals.

He also served Team India as batting coach, assistant coach and also as a head coach of the Indian team that toured Zimbabwe in 2016.

Earlier this year, Bangar was appointed as the batting consultant of RCB and now he will take up the role of the head coach.
