WATCH: Brian Lara’s punctured shoe moment

Pakistan’s legendary pacer Wasim Akram shared a photo of Brian Lara with his punctured shoe recently from the 1992 World Cup. Apparently the shoe was punctured by a Wasim Akram’s toe crusher which injured Brian Lara, who was forced to leave the field.

West Indies won the match by 10 wickets but not before Brian Lara had to retire hurt for a unbeaten 88 in 101 balls. Lara was adjudged the Man of the Match for that fixture.

Wasim Akram posted on his twitter about the event nearly 30 years after the 1992 World Cup Match. He posted saying, “

The Prince of Trinidad never ceases to amaze, years after retirement from the game! We met at a charity and he brought this shoe with him to make sure I would sign it – he’d held on to it since 1992 WC when I hit him on the toe (after he got 88!) Hold a grudge much, @BrianLara ?”

Here is the Wasim Akram versus Brian Lara toe crushing moment from the 1992 Cricket World Cup which punctured the Trinidadian’s shoe:
