Team India squad for the tour of Sri Lanka announced

Shikhar Dhawan has been appointed as the captain for Team India for the upcoming limited overs tour in the Island nation. Team India squad comprises of 20 players and 5 net bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is appointed as the vice-captain of the team.

Rahul Dravid will take up the duty of head coach for the tour of Sri Lanka.

Team India has called up top order batsmen Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devdutt Padikkal and Nitish Rana in to their line up after their recent performances in domestic cricket and Indian Premier League. Also among the first call up is left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya who show cased his talent in the 2021 IPL edition.

The team has 2 wicket keeper batsmen in the form of Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan. The pace battery is bolstered by the presence of vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Navdeep Saini, Chetan Sakariya and Deepak Chahar.

The spin unit has wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahar, Rahul Chahar along with mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy.

The team has gone with 5 net bowlers in the form of Ishan Porel, Sandeep Warrier, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, Arshdeep Singh and Simarjeet Singh.

Hardik Pandya and Krishnappa Gowtham provide the all-rounder options for the team. Experienced batsman Manish Pandey can provide the much needed stability in Sri Lankan conditions.
