CPL 2021: Trinbago Knight Riders Full Squad

Trinbago Knight Riders roped in 4 players in the CPL 2021 draft to finish their squad of 16. Each team is allowed to pick a maximum of 17 players including a maximum of 5 overseas cricketers. Knight Riders retained as many as 12 players going in to the draft after trading in Denesh Ramdin from St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and letting go experienced all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.

Trinbago Knight Riders got in Ravi Rampaul ahead of the CPL 2021 draft where they got in 3 more players in the form of Sri Lankan bowling all-rounder Isuru Udana, Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichchane and 19-year-old wicket keeper batsman Leonardo Julien.

Isuru Udana is known for his limited over specialization with the ball and is a handy tonker lower down the order. Udana has picked 165 wickets in 159 matches at an average of 25. He also scored 1036 runs with a highest score of 84*.

Leornardo Julien played in the T10 league at Abu Dhabi earlier this year for Team Abu Dhabi. Julien is a Trinidad & Tobago born cricketer who represented West Indies at the U-19 World Cup in 2020. He opened the innings for his team through out the tournament.

Sandeep Lamichchane who played for Jamaica Tallawahs last year, is now acquired by Trinbago Knight Riders to strengthen their spin attack. 20-year-old Lamichchane has already picked 138 T20 wickets in 100 innings at an average of 18.26. His economy rate of 6.86 is an impressive feature of his bowling.

Ravi Rampaul is back to his local team as he played most of his domestic cricket for Trinidad & Tobago team. He was a part of Trinidad & Tobago T20 line up which entered the finals of the inaugural Champions League finals. The 36-year-old has picked 192 wickets at an average of 21.53. His best bowling figures are 5/9. His experience will be a major boost to the team.

The tournament gets away from August 28 after a busy season for the West Indies at home with series lined up against South Africa, Australia and Pakistan. The CPL 2021 final is scheduled to place on September 19.

Trinbago Knight Riders Squad:
