Piyush Chawla’s father passed away due to COVID-19
Double World Cup winner Piyush Chawla lost his father on 10th May 2021 due to Covid-19 complications. The experienced Indian leg spinner announced it on his social media expressing grief.
Chawla who represented India in 3 Tests, 25 ODIs and 7 T20Is posted on his instagram saying he lost his pillar of strength.
“With deepest grief, we announce that my beloved father, Mr Pramod Kumar Chawla, left for the heavenly abode on 10th May 2021.
He was suffering from covid and post covid complications,” Chawla wrote on his Instagram account.
“We invite your kind thoughts and prayers in this difficult times. May his noble soul rest in peace.”
India is under the grip of the second wave of Covid-19 complications and the citizens are battling with it day in day out. A few days ago left arm pacer Chetan Sakariya lost his dad battling Covid-19. Indian cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy also lost her mom and sister due to the ongoing pandemic.
Chawla’s latest IPL team Mumbai Indians too offered their condolences.
“Our thoughts go out to Piyush Chawla who lost his father, Mr. Pramod Kumar Chawla this morning.
We are with you and your family in this difficult time. Stay strong,” tweeted Mumbai Indians.
Piyush Chawla represents Gujarat in the domestic circuit and has so far played 136 first-class matches, taking 445 wickets in it. He is one of the most respected leg spinners in the country right now.
