Rassie van der Dussen replaces Ben Stokes for RR
Proteas batsman Rassie van der Dussen is currently in India to replace Ben Stokes for Rajasthan Royals. He is currently in quarantine and is expected to join the team as soon as he is done with the mandatory protocols.
The Proteas batsman scored 3824 T20 runs in 120 innings at an average of 38.62, powered by a strike rate of 131.31. He scored 3 T20 centuries and 26 half centuries.
Rassie can give stability to Royals with his ability to anchor the innings and shift gears at will. He already featured in 20 International matches for his country.
Rassie went unsold at the IPL 2021 Auction but got picked as a replacement for Royals who lost 4 overseas players in the form of Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, AJ Tye and Liam Livingstone.
Rassie van der Dussen previously played in Pakistan Super League (Islamabad United) and Caribbean Premier League (St Kitts and Nevis Patriots) as well.
van der Dussen featured in 20 T20 Internationals for South Africa and the right-handed batsman scored 628 runs at an impressive average of 41.87. He has also scored his runs at a splendid strike rate of 138.63.
Royals currently have Jos Buttler (England), David Miller (South Africa), Chris Morris (South Africa), Mustafizur Rahman (Bangladesh) and Rassie van der Dussen (South Africa) as their overseas players.
My dream team will feature Marcus Trescothick and Anil Kumble
