Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma registered his first half century of IPL 2021. He hit 63 runs in 52 balls with the help of 5 fours and 2 sixes. Rohit took his time early on but accelerated as the innings progressed.

He put on an important partnership pf 79 runs in 55 balls with Suryakumar Yadav for the 3rd wicket. He brought up his half century in 40 balls.

The 20-year-old leggie was finally brought in to the playing 11 replacing Murugan Ashwin. Bishnoi struck in his first ever over by removing a struggling Ishan Kishan (6). He later picked the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav (33) who put on a solid partnership with Rohit Sharma.

Ravi Bishnoi finished with bowling figures of 4-0-21-2. Most importantly it had 10 dot balls in it.

After a lack lustre performance against SRH, Indian pacer Mohammed Shami returned to form with a bowling performance of 4-0-21-2.

He got the important wickets of Rohit Sharma and Krunal Pandya in the death overs to stem the run flow restricting Mumbai Indians to 131/6 in 20 overs.

Captain KL Rahul top scored for Punjab Kings in a successful chase as he remained unbeaten on 60 in 52 balls. He hit 3 fours and 3 sixes in his match winning knock.

Rahul put on a partnership of 79 runs with Chris Gayle which helped Punjab Kings to win with 14 balls to spare. He was adjudged the Player of the Match for his captain’s knock.

The West Indies batsman showed why he is important to his team’s cause by scoring a 35 ball 43 not out which helped him team cross the finish line. He scored 5 fours and 2 sixes and showed why experience matters.

He started off slow but slowly gathered momentum as he picked the deliveries to put to boundaries. His knock was quite crucial in Punjab Kings’ 9 wicket win against Mumbai Indians.
