Mumbai Indians helped themselves to back-to-back wins at Chennai which helped them propel to No.1 spot in points table. SRH continued their struggle with finishing matches as they fell short by 13 runs.

The SRH all-rounder made use of his knowledge on home ground to deliver wickets of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav which stemmed the run flow of Mumbai Indians.

He scored 28 runs in 25 balls with the help of 2 sixes but couldn’t quite help his team cross the line.

Kieron Pollard

The big hitter from West Indies made the difference to the final total of Mumbai Indians. He hit 2 sixes off the last 2 balls of the innings to help his team to 150-5 in 20 overs.

Pollard remained unbeaten on 35 runs in 25 balls with help of 1 four and 3 sixes. He came back to bowl 2 overs conceding just 10 runs which added pressure to Sunrisers chase. He was adjudged the Man of the Match.

Jonny Bairstow

The SRH opener took to the attack smacking Trent Boult for 18 runs in his 2nd over. The English batsman scored 43 runs in 22 balls with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes to push the Orange Army in the chase of 151 runs.

He was dismissed in a unfortunate way as his foot hit the stumps while attempting a shot in the bowling of Krunal Pandya as he went back to the dugout ‘Hit Wicket’.

Jasprit Bumrah

Mumbai Indians were rocked by Jonny Bairstow power hitting in the first 6 overs but it was Jasprit Bumrah who kept things quiet at the other end.

His death bowling was impressive once again as he conceded just 9 runs and picked 1 wickets off his last 2 overs which put pressure on the SRH batsmen. Bumrah finished with match figures of 4-0-14-1 which were quite influential in the final outcome.

Rahul Chahar

The leggie followed up his 4-27 with a match winning 3-19 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He got the wickets of Manish Pandey, Virat Singh and Abhishek Sharma which broke the spine of SRH middle order in the chase.

Chahar bowled 13 dot balls in his spell and incidentally that was the exact amount of runs Mumbai Indians won by.

Honorable Mentions

Hardik Pandya affected 2 run outs via direct hits to get rid of the all important David Warner and the smashing young talent Abdul Samad. Trent Boult delivered in the death after going for 20 runs in the powerplay. Boult returned to concede just 8 runs in 10 balls and picked 3 wickets to finish the proceedings in favor of Mumbai Indians.
