IPL 2021: CSK new jersey unveiled
Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni unveiled the CSK jersey for the IPL 2021 edition. The jersey is very similar to the yellow jersey the team down south wears every year but with two significant changes. This year they got ‘Myntra’ as their principal sponsor on the jersey. In the 2020 edition they ‘The Mutoot Group’ as their main sponsor.
The jersey also has a ‘Army Camouflage Strips’ on shoulders giving it a unique appeal over other jerseys the franchise ever got made.
CSK twitter handle released a quick video of captain Dhoni unveiling the jersey with the tagline –
Thala Dharisanam! #WearOnWhistleOn with the all new #Yellove! #WhistlePodu
Behind the jersey – we can see one of their main sponsors India Cements logo celebrating their 75th anniversary. ’75 years of India Cement’ is inscribed just above the jersey number. The jersey has army camouflage strips over the shoulder line which makes it stand out from other jerseys this year.
The jersey is made out of ‘recycled plastic’. It was depicted that 15 plastic bottles were recycled to make 1 jersey and reduced carbon emission by 270 grams – giving it a eco-friendly angle to it.
The pre-orders for the replica jersey is available on Souled Store and CSK website. The jerseys would be shipped out starting from April 9 (the opening day of IPL 2021).
A certificate of authenticity along with captain Dhoni’s autograph comes over the certificate!
IPL 2021 will begin on April 9, 2021 with RCB taking on MI at Chennai. CSK will kick off their campaign with their first match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai against Delhi Capitals on April 10.
