Yusuf Pathan retires from all forms of Cricket
Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan announced retirement from all forms of Cricket at the age of 38. He took to social media to make the announcement on Friday, 26th February, 2021.
Yusuf Pathan was a part of Team India that won the 2007 T20 World Cup & 2011 Cricket World Cup!
Pathan represented India in 57 ODIs and 22 T20 Internationals.
He scored 810 ODI runs with a strike rate of 113.60 in 41 innings. He scored 2 centuries and 3 half centuries with a career highest of 123* against New Zealand at Bengaluru which helped India chase down a target of 316. He also picked 33 wickets in ODI cricket. He scored 236 runs at a strike rate of 146.58 in T20 Internationals.
Yusuf Pathan held a prolific IPL record as he represented Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the tournament history. He scored 3204 IPL runs at an average of 29.12. He has a career strike rate of 142.97 in the tourney as he scored 1 century and 13 fifties. He recorded a 37 ball century against Mumbai Indians while playing for Rajasthan Royals in 2010.
Pathan was a domestic giant in his own right as he predominantly represented Baroda. He scored 4825 First Class runs and 4797 List A runs. He also has 201 First Class runs to his name along with 124 List A wickets.
He also excelled in the T20 formats as he recorded 4852 T20 runs at an average of 27.56 and a strike rate of 139.34. He took 99 wickets in the shorter format with a best of 4-10.
“I officially announce retirement from all forms of the game. I thank my family, friends, fans, team, and the whole country wholeheartedly for all the support and love. I am sure you will continue to encourage me in future as well,” the 38-year-old said on Twitter.
