ICC Player of The Month Award Nominees for January announced!

ICC announced the nominees for the inaugural ICC Player of the Month awards in both Men’s and Women’s cricket. These awards aim at to recognise and celebrate the best performances from both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket throughout the year. 

The ICC Men’s Player of the Month January Nominees:
Rishabh Pant (India)
Joe Root (England)
Paul Stirling (Ireland)


• ICC Women’s Player of the Month January Nominees:
Diana Baig (Pakistan)
Shabnim Ismail (South Africa)
Marizanne Kapp (South Africa)

Fans can now vote on www.icc-cricket.com for their favourite ICC Player of the Month (January). 

The Men’s nominees include England captain Joe Root who had a prolific away series against Sri Lanka – scoring 426 runs in 2 Tests and leading his team to a clean sweep in the island nation.

The nominations also include Rishabh Pant who has been a massive influence in India clinching the Test series 2-1 against Australia. Pant recorded 245 runs in 2 Tests he played – at an average of 81.66.

Meanwhile Irish opener kicked off the year with 3 centuries in 5 ODI innings he played in January 2021 and made his way in to the ICC Player of The Month Award nominations list
