1097 Cricketers register for IPL 2021 Auction
The mini IPL 2021 auction which is set to happen on February 18, 2021 has attracted 1097 cricketers all over world. By the time the IPL Player registration closed on 4th February – a total of 1097 players, out of which 814 are Indians and 243 are from overseas have enrolled themselves for the auction event.
Out of these 1097 players – 207 players have played International cricket while 863 players are uncapped. 27 of them are from Associate nations.
Out of the 207 capped players – 21 are from India, 186 are from overseas. Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc’s name isn’t among the 186 players.
Out of the uncapped players – 743 are from India while 68 are from rest of the world. 50 of these uncapped Indian players played at least 1 IPL match while 68 are uncapped overseas players

The auction is set to take place in Chennai on February 18 at the luxurious ITC Grand Chola Hotel.
This auction will be the first for Arjun Tendulkar – left arm pace all rounder – who has set himself at a base value of 20 lakh INR. Indian pacer Sreesanth returns to IPL auction at a base price of 75 lakh INR.
Indian Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara is also among the players in the auction list at a base price of 50 lakh INR.
CSK released cricketers Kedar Jadhav and Harbhajan Singh have put themselves in at a base price of 2 crore INR while Hanuma Vihari is in at a base price of 1 crore INR. Aaron Finch, Umesh Yadav, Marnus Labuschagne, and Sheldon Cottrell have also enrolled themselves at a base price of 1 crore INR.
International cricketers Jason Roy, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Colin Ingram, Mark Wood, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett Shakib Al Hasan and Moeen Ali chose the high base price of 2 crore INR.
The ICC No.1 T20I batsman Dawid Malan has registered himself at a base price of 1.5 crore INR. Also in the same base price category are International cricketers Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Alex Carey, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jhye Richardson, Mitchell Swepson, Tom Curran, Lewis Gregory, Alex Hales, Adam Lyth, Adil Rashid and David Willey
England Test captain Joe Root and Aussie spearhead Mitchell Starc opted out of the auction. James Pattinson also stayed away from the auction enrollment as he is taking a break from long summer spent in bio secure bubbles.
