Angelo Mathews in Sri Lankan Test squad against England
Ace all-rounder Angelo Mathews is back in Sri Lankan Test squad after nursing a hamstring injury that saw him out of the away series in South Africa. Sri Lanka will take on England in 2 match Test series from 14th January 2021 at Galle as a part of ICC World Test Championship.
The fully fit Angelo Mathews will be a big boost for Sri Lanka in home conditions against England. Mathews who was initially selected for the tour of South Africa – missed out as he sustained a hamstring injury in the semi-finals of Lanka Premier League.
Sri Lanka has named a 22 member squad under captain Dimuth Karunaratne to take on England. The squad also has some come back cricketers in the form of Nuwan Pradeep and Roshen Silva. Ace pacer Suranga Lakmal who missed out the South Africa series with injury also makes it to the squad.
Dhananjaya de Silva couldn’t make it to the squad as he has not completely recovered from the injury he sustained in the first Test against South Africa where he scored a gutsy unbeaten 79.
