CSK vs RCB– Match 22 – IPL 2022 Report: Chennai Super Kings registered their first win of IPL 2022. They beat RCB by 23 runs in their 200th IPL match.
Batting first CSK powered to 216-4 in 20 overs – Thanks to 165 run partnership for the third wicket between Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube. Uthappa registered his highest score in IPL while Dube recorded his highest score in T20 cricket.
Chasing 217 runs to win, RCB were reduced to 50-4 in 6.5 overs as Sri Lankan mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana removed both the openers. Debutant Suyash Prabhidessai and Shahbaz Ahmed combined to put on a 60-run stand in 33 balls to put RCB back in contention. Theekshana returned to removed both the batsmen but Dinesh Karthik’s presence kept the RCB hopes alive.
DK scored a quick fire 34 at 242.86 strike rate but Dwayne Bravo’s death skills removed him to put CSK in a comfortable position to win the match by 23 runs.
