South Africa vs Australia – World Cup 2022 Report: Australia chased down their second consecutive 270+ target in ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 – this time against South Africa. This is South Africa’s first loss in this edition of Women’s World Cup.

Laura Wolvaardt continued her dream run in the World Cup with a well compiled 90 runs as Sune Luus (52) and Marizanne Kapp propelled South Africa to 271-5 in 50 overs. This meant Australia had to chase down yet another target of 270+ in World Cup cricket.

South Africa removed both Aussie openers with the score at 45 in 10.3 overs. Captain Meg Lanning helmed the innings with her 10th century in a successful run chase. This is the most centuries by a female cricketer in a successful run chase. Australia chased down the target with 28 balls remaining.

Australia Women now have the world record for the longest winning streak while chasing in ODI cricket – 18 wins and counting. They beat Indian Men’s record of 17 consecutive wins during 2005-06 season.
