DC vs KKR, Match 41 – IPL 2022 Report: Delhi Capitals beat Kolkata Knight Riders for the second time in IPL 2022. It was once again destruction by their former spinner Kuldeep Yadav.
KKR were reduced to 35/4 in 7.3 overs after back-to-back wickets by Kuldeep Yadav. Shreyas Iyer (42) and Nitish Rana (57) rescued the sinking batting order as they managed 146/9 in 20 overs. Kuldeep Yadav picked 4 wickets in his 3 over spell and Mustafizur Rahman picked 3. Mustafizur conceded just 2 runs in the final over and picked 2 wickets in the 20th over to bog down KKR to less than 150.
Chasing 147 runs to win, Umesh Yadav struck the very first ball to send Prithvi Shaw out for a golden duck. The very next over debutant Harshit Rana removed Mitchell Marsh who was in attacking form. David Warner and Lalit Yadav resurrected the chase with a 65-run stand for third wicket in 8 overs.
Umesh Yadav returned to removed David Warner for 42 who went on to play a reluctant hook leading to a catch at the boundary to Sunil Narine. With in a span of next 10 balls, 2 more wickets fell in the form of Rishabh Pant and Lalit Yadav which caused a slight panic in the DC camp.
With the score at 84/5 in 11.1 overs, Rovman Powell and Axar Patel took on the KKR bowlers reducing the runs required to 34 runs in 30 balls before the unnecessary run out of Axar Patel who was looking in great touch with the bat. Powell finished the proceedings with a brutal 33 powered by 3 sixes.
Kuldeep Yadav was adjudged the Player of the Match. He now has bowling figures of 7-0-49-8 against KKR this season.
