Previously England pacer Mark Wood was ruled out of IPL 2022 due to elbow injury which he sustained during the first Test between West Indies and England in Antigua.

We have had reports suggesting Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed could be Wood’s initial replacement but the Bangladesh Cricket Board refused to issue a NOC (No-Objection Certificate). Eventually Andrew Tye replaced the English pacer in LSG squad.

Blessing Muzarabani had a good run in T20 circuit and made news after troubling the Pakistan team in limited over series. The last Zimbabwean cricketer to be a part of IPL was Brendan Taylor who was a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Earlier Raymond Price and Tatenda Taibu were a part of Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders squads respectively.

Lucknow Super Giants will be led by KL Rahul who has the experience of leading Punjab Kings in the last two seaons. Super Giants will take on another IPL debutants Gujarat Titans in their first match on March 28 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
