LSG vs GT, Match 56 – IPL 2022 Report: Chennai Super Kings were bowled out for 97 all out at Wankhede. After being put to bat, CSK were reduced to 29-5 with in the powerplay! Daniel Sams picked 3 wickets in the powerplay whole Bumrah and Meredith picked one each.

CSK captain MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 36* and he was the only batter that kept the run flow going for the team. Ramandeep Singh who bowled his first over in his IPL career picked his maiden IPL wicket in the form of Maheesh Theekshana.

Chasing 98 to win, Mumbai Indians lost 4 wickets in the powerplay. They were reduced to 33-4 with IPL debutant Tristan Stubbs trapped for a 2-ball duck by Mukesh Choudhary. Choudhary picked 3 wickets in the powerplay. Hrithik Shokeen and Tilak Varma put a 48-run stand for the fifth wicket to help Mumbai to safety.

Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 34* as Tim David hit 2 sixes off Moeen Ali to take MI to glory with 5.1 overs remaining. Chennai Super Kings are now on 8 points and can only get to a maximum of 12 points from their remaining matches, which will be not enough for the qualification to playoffs.
