Team India announce Test squad for Oval Test – Prasidh Krishna in!
Team India added pacer Prasidh Krishna to the squad for the fourth Test against England at Oval. The Test is scheduled to start on Thursday, September 2. The decision was taken following request from Indian team management, BCCI said in a statement.
Prasidh and Arzan Nagwaswalla were the standby players on the five-Test tour and had been training in the nets and travelling with the team since the start of the trip. The Karnataka pacer featured in three ODIs since his International debut against England in March, 2021.
The squad now stands at a count of 22 with Arzan Nagwaswalla named as the stand-by bowler. Ajinkya Rahane continues to be Virat Kohli’s deputy in the squad.
Ravindra Jadeja Injury Status
Indian allrounder Ravindra Jadeja sustained a knee injury while fielding during the Leeds Test and was admitted to the hospital for precautionary scans to determine the extent of injury. As per reports the injury isn’t a serious cause of concern and he will be available for selection for the fourth Test match.
England won the Leeds Test by an innings and 72 runs to square the Test series with 2 matches to go.The fourth Test will be played at The Oval, London with the series levelled 1-1.
