RR vs DC – IPL 2022 Report: Marsh and Warner’s clinical chase!
RR vs DC, Match 58 – IPL 2022 Report: Delhi Capitals moved to 12 points after a satisfying win against Rajasthan Royals at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy.
Being put to bat, Royals lost Jos Buttler (7) in the third over to Chetan Sakariya. Sakariya replaced Khaleel Ahmed this match. Ravichandran Ashwin who walked in put on a 43-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal for the 3rd wicket. Ashwin scored his first ever half century in his T20 career while Devdutt Padikkal fell two runs short of his half century. The duo put of 53-run stand for the 3rd wicket in 6 overs. Rajasthan Royals clearly missed Shimron Hetmyer in the end overs as there was inadequate acceleration which took Royals to 160 for 6 in 20 overs. 160 still looked like a par total on this dry wicket.
Chasing 162 to win, Delhi Capitals were off to a bad start as they lost KS Bharat in just the second ball of the innings to Trent Boult. The Aussie duo of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh took the game away from Royals with an outstanding 144-run stand for the second wicket. Marsh survived a LBW appeal as RR decided not to take the DRS.
Marsh smacked 89 in 62 balls while Warner remained unbeaten on 52 runs. Captain Rishabh Pant joined Warner at the exit of Mitchell Marsh and scored 2 sixes off Yuzvendra Chahal to finish of the match early. DC clinched the match with 11 balls to go!
