DC vs SRH – IPL 2022 Report: Warner gives it back to SRH | Powell-Pooran display Windies power!
DC vs SRH, Match 50 – IPL 2022 Report: Delhi Capitals recorded 207/3 in 20 overs despite 1/1 in 2 overs by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the powerplay. David Warner bashed his former franchise SRH as he went on to score 92* off 58 balls studded with 12 fours and 3 sixes. He put on a 122 run-stand with Rovman Powell who bludgeoned 67* runs off 35 balls powered by 3 fours and 6 sixes.
Captain Rishabh Pant helped recover the early situation of 37/2 with a handy 26 run knock. He hit SRH leg spinner Shreyas Gopal for 6, 6, 6 & 4 before getting bowled out off a full toss in the same over. David Warner recorded his 400th six in his T20 career in this match. He also surpassed Chris Gayle’s record of 88 half centuries in T20 cricket.
Sunrisers Hyderabad didn’t have the most ideal of starts chasing 208 runs to win. They were reduced to 37/3 in 7 overs as they lost their top 3. Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran sprung some life in to the innings with a 60-run stand for the fourth wicket in 35 balls. Khaleel Ahmed removed Markram at a crucial juncture of the match and it was pure Nicholas Pooran show.
Pooran slammed his fourth IPL half-century and took the match deep by bludgeoning 6 sixes during his stay. Shardul Thakur got his wicket and that spelled doom to any remaining hopes of Orange Army fans. Delhi clinched the match by 21 runs to climb to No.5 on the points table!
