KL Rahul fined – Stoinis reprimanded

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper, KL Rahul, was fined 20 percent of his match fees for breaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) Code of Conduct during the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday, April 19 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai.

Apart from the Bangalore-born Rahul, retained all-rounder Marcus Stoinis was reprimanded following the Super Giants’ 18-run defeat to Faf du Plessis and Co. As per an IPL release, both Rahul and Stoinis were charged with Level 1 offences and they admitted to the breach.

The Australian all-rounder was heard using abusive language on field after getting dismissed – bowled out by Josh Hazlewood.

Royal Challengers Bangalore prevailed victorious in the clash against Lucknow Super Giants. A 18-run win put RCB at No.2 in the points table while LSG are currently positioned at No.4.

Previously we have seen MI and SRH captains being fined for slow over rates.

LSG captain KL Rahul surpassed Virat Kohli to become the fastest Indian to score 6000 T20 runs. Rahul has reached the milestone in 179 innings at a strike rate of 138.18. Kohli achieved 6000 T20 runs in 184 innings.

Lucknow will take on Mumbai Indians in their next IPL clash on Sunday, April 24 – which also marks Sachin Tendulkar’s birthday. The match is scheduled to take place at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
